A renovation of a private lounge room in a Victorian terrace in East London, intended to serve as a calm, serene space for relaxation. Our design is a neutral but texture-rich space that heros the Victorian character features of the home, whilst introducing some more modern elements in the joinery and lighting.
The walls and architraves were refinished in a soft, beige-toned limewash, with a period ceiling rose and modern statement pendant installed. Custom joinery was designed for the alcoves either side of the fireplace (repainted in an off black tone) to allow for display space and storage, and furniture pieces in warm, neutral tones, with accents of honey-toned wood, were selected to further build on the earthy, natural palette. Privacy panels and washed linen curtains, both on wrought iron poles, dress the windows.
