ART AND OBJECT CURATION
A workspace designed for Midnight, a web development agency, in the Hackney landmark Netil House building. The large, open plan space was leased with the intention to be used as creative, collaborative work space to support innovation and a more nurturing approach to team growth. Midnight work closely with a host of creative agencies and institutions, and wanted to position the agency within the considered, design conscious world of their clients.
Serene powdery greens, metallic silver, and a lush leafy planting scheme create a cool, calm and collected place of work. Inspired by science fiction movies, and the retro-futuristic design of the 1980’s, Studio Jey designed custom angle steel desks with a kitset aesthetic, and a complementary conference table fabricated in green-tinted MDF and brushed aluminium. These bespoke pieces sit alongside vintage pieces by Vitra, USM and Niall O’Flynn.
