INTERIOR STYLING
A full interior renovation of a split level apartment in London Fields. The ground floor was already somewhat open plan, but the footprint of the kitchen was redesigned and enlarged with key structural changes, allowing for French doors to open onto a juliet balcony.
Custom joinery was installed throughout, including brushed and waxed stainless steel cabinetry in the newly created kitchen alcove. Original floor boards on the ground floor were restored and stained a warm, off-black tone. Curves were used throughout the design, taking reference from an original curved wall in the living room space.
In the living room, walls were finished in a soft, chalky limewash paint, with period ceiling roses and cornicing reinstated, and modern statement lighting introduced. Vintage stone tables were sourced for the living room and kitchen, to complement upholstered furniture in earthy stone and khaki tones, and vintage arts and crafts era dining chairs. Street facing windows were dressed with privacy panels and brushed cotton-linen curtains on beeswax rubbed wrought iron hardware.
Upstairs, the bathroom layout was reworked to include a utility area with storage, and finished in microcement with a limestone bath surround.
The hallway, bedroom and study were painted in warm tones using a chalky, ultra matt paint finish, with sisal flooring underfoot. Custom joinery in the master bedroom offers ample storage.
In addition to the interior renovation works, the exterior was also restored with missing or damaged elements of the decorative plasterwork recast and replaced, and the facade repainted.
