A full interior renovation and loft extension of a terrace house located in Leyton, East London. Significant change to the ground floor layout allowed for more open plan, modern living, with the extension offering an additional bedroom, bathroom and further storage in the eaves.
The ground floor was designed with entertaining in mind, with large format aluminium sliding doors leading seamlessly from the open plan kitchen and dining area outdoors, allowing the garden to serve as an extension of the living room in the warmer months. The ground floor was tiled throughout with rich terracotta quarry tiles, extending seamlessly to the rear terrace.
Custom joinery was designed throughout to maximise the potential for storage, including a custom kitchen with brushed and waxed stainless steel bench and island, complemented with ribbed oak cabinetry. Walls and ceilings were painted a cool white shade to serve as a neutral backdrop for the client’s impressive collection of 20th Century furniture and art objects.
Upstairs, both bathrooms are mosaic tiled throughout in an off white shade, designed to complement the quarry tiled flooring used on the ground floor.
